VERTEX

branding, print design, layout, typography

Vertex is a biannual magazine focusing on many aspects of design, including international typography and culture. Each issue is state of the art. Each isssue will have a total unconventional/unexpected topic that all tie with the same overall vision of our publication. It isn’t just a regular design magazine, it is a mood board for designers, artists, type enthusiasts, or just to anyone who enjoys the aesthetic of design.

Vertex 13: 80s issue

Cover

For Vertex number 13, 80s is the overall theme for this issue. The cover featured Leigh Bowery — A very influential fashion designer in the 80s, yet forgotten in recent time. I want to have an expressive image on the cover that grab people's attention enough for them to open and peak inside.

Index

This issue is divided into two big sections: featured articles and 80s related section such as 80s Posters, 80s Advertising, 80s Packaging etc.

Ads

Ads in Vertex are well curated and sometimed designed by in house designers so they would go well with Vertex's visual language. I want readers to read throughout like it's a part of the magazine, not just ads.
